Submit your demon

The Demon talks in seven tongues
† Call for Voices: The Demon Talks Ritual
Ashmore opens the circle.
Seven mouths. Seven truths. Seven writers, carved in sound.
I invite all writers to submit a monologue in the voice of a demon.
Theme
Not necessarily evil or blasphemous.
But traumatized. Ancient. Exiled. Unseen.
Summoned by a dying world.
A personified pitch black.
The demon inside you.
The demon that hunted you.
The demon you became.
It may be political, mythic, cosmic, or personal.
† You decide. †
Be the demon–before I become it.
Ashmore does not judge.
Good examples of this style:
- Aurora Gamourtian: Bloodmagick
- E.M.R: Ritual of Rot
- Spencer D.W. Several poems
Requirements
1. Open with a ritual incantation of your choice. Name the demon and its domain.
“I am Razar, demon of the fog. Hear me now.”
2. Length: 500 - 700 words
3. Tone: Mythic, raw, cursed, divine.
No exposition. No backstory. Just voice.
4. No generated content. You must have written the piece.
5. Deadline: June 6, 2025, 6 pm UTC
What happens next
Ashmore will choose seven voices.
Each will be recorded as a ritual monologue, spoken by me.
Together, they form the Bandcamp album:
† The Demon Talks †
- All selected writers (and all who submit) receive the album for free
- Proceeds (if any) go to charity (likely animal welfare or child protection
- Your piece will be linked back to your post or site upon release
- The album and your piece will be promoted across Substack, Bandcamp, and will also be added one by one to the Ashmore Transmissions podcast.
How to submit
The summoning is complete.
The demons have entered.
Now begins the silence before the storm.
Each will be notified.
Each will be heard.
Only seven will be spoken.
